Pura Vida

A view of the Monteverde cloud forest in Costa Rica.

My sister sent me a photograph she had taken while on her honeymoon and I loved the dense and varied jungle plants, leaf shapes and colours I knew I had to draw it. It began as a black and white image created with a dip pen and black ink washes. Then I decided to add colour to show the richness of the jungle using layers of Indian inks.
